Cville community news
In our last update, we talked about what the Ting Team had been up to in Cville and gave a little update on the network progress in Fry’s Spring. Today, we’ll do the same, and announce continued progress for Fry’s residents.
Hey Fontana, order Ting and support your neighborhood students
If you live in Fontana you can get Ting! Order today to take advantage of a special community promotion in support of the Stony Point Elementary Parent Teacher Organization.
Order Ting before November 30 and you’ll get a free installation ($200 value). Plus, Ting will donate $50 to the Stony Point Elementary PTO.
The organization uses its funds to enhance the learning experiences at Stony Point Elementary, including funding field trips, providing teacher stipends for classroom supplies, providing teaching materials and much more.
Just run your address and place your order at fontana.ting.com before November 30! You still have some time. Your discount will be applied automatically.
We just wrapped a similar promotion in Redfields where we will able to donate $550 to the Cale Elementary Weekend Backpack Program! A special shout-out goes to Cale and the Redfields HOA for their continued support.
Ting around town
The Ting Cville team has had a busy few months! Ting sponsored the monthly CAAR General Meeting on October 4 where we launched our local realtor program. Ting City Manager Kara Chandeysson spoke about the value fiber can bring to homebuyers and sellers. If you’re a realtor working in Cville, stay tuned for more information on the realtor program. We’ll be launching marketing materials and a website to help you leverage fiber Internet in home sales. You can also check out our blog post all about the positive impact fiber has on home sales.
On October 9, Ting hosted Charlottesville High School students, as part of the Charlottesville Business Innovation Council (CBIC) Tech Tour. We talked about fiber and the future of the Internet!
The Ting Team also participated in the United Way Day of Caring on September 26. The team built 8 neighborhood library boxes for Cale Elementary and delivered them to the school on October 23. The mini libraries will be installed throughout neighborhoods that feed into Cale, providing free books for students and their families.
We sponsored Fry’s Spring HOA Octoberfest. We loved meeting everyone who came out and chatted with our team about our fiber build throughout Fry’s Spring! We also sponsored the Sneakerball with We Code Too on November 3 and the Virginia Film Festival November 1 to November 4.
Ting presented the first annual Switch On! Summit alongside Charlottesville Women in Tech! The conference was dedicated to supporting and connecting women in tech in Charlottesville and featured speakers, workshops and networking opportunities.
