Welcome to Ting’s progress reports for Fuquay-Varina. In these updates, we’ll offer as much information as we possibly can on the fiber network build process. We’ll also talk about Ting events, promotions and some of the work we’re doing in the Fuquay-Varina community. Check back regularly to keep up to date on the latest.
In our last construction update for Fuquay-Varina, we talked about how construction had wrapped up in Phase 1. Today, we’re excited to announce that we’ve lit our first customers in Fuquay-Varina in Alston Ridge! The wait is over and the network is officially live.
We’ll continue lighting in Alston Ridge and shortly after we’ll move forward with the rest of Phase 1. If you’re located in Phase 1 of our network build, don’t forget to order Ting at ting.com/fuquayvarina to get the fastest, most reliable Internet available today. After you place an order, our team will call to book your installation.
Work continues in Phase 2: stay tuned for installations
Construction and fiber blowing have wrapped in: Woodland Point, Southview Point, Southern Oaks, Parker Pointe, Carriage Heights and Ridges at Kenneth Creek. We’re now working on connecting these neighborhoods back to our Central Office (CO).
The CO is where the fiber switching smarts live and where all network traffic is sent to and received from the larger Internet and routed. If you’ve ever seen a server room, it looks a lot like that; thousands of wires and fiber strands coming into the structure and getting connected to high tech equipment, mounted in tall metal racks.
If you live in Phase 2, stay tuned for more information about when we’ll be installing your neighborhood.
Construction in Phase 3
Our Ting crews have been working in Phillips Pointe, Amber Ridge, Morgan Creek and Whitestone as well as Avalon Springs and Northwyck. In Phillips Pointe, we’ve just wrapped up fiber blowing, a process where we route fiber optic cables through conduit we’ve already placed underground. We’ll continue blowing fiber in the rest of Phase 3, after which, we’ll connect all these neighborhoods back to the CO. Then we’ll be ready for installations.
