Introducing the Cricut
We’re always on the lookout for new technology that makers can use. That’s why we added the Cricut Maker, the “ultimate smart cutting machine” to our Ting Makerspace.
What is the Cricut Maker?
Beloved by sewers and those who work with textiles, the Cricut can cut a variety of fabrics and materials with just a few clicks. In fact, the Cricut can cut hundreds of materials from delicate fabric to leather and even balsa wood. Just upload your pattern and let the Cricut do the work.
Blades and pens
The Cricut is much more than just a cutting tool. It also engraves and scores materials with a suite of blades and pens. The Rotary Blade glides and rolls to cut through any fabric quickly and accurately. The Knife Blade is a deep blade that works like an X-ACTO knife to cut heavier materials like balsa wood and the Fine-Point Pen can be used to mark, write and draw.
Looking for some inspiration?
The Ting Makerspace has a variety materials in stock that can be cut by the Cricut Maker. We’ve got vinyl and glitter vinyl, faux leather, chipboard, iron-on, glitter iron-on and cardstock.

Faux leather is awesome for fashion accessories and embellishments for scrapbooking. Iron-on is ideal for t-shirts, club bags, aprons and cushion covers. Use cardstock to make birthday cards and even your own DIY wedding invitations!
