Meet Michael N.
Meet Michael Nepini, Ting Westminster’s new intern from Josh Ambrose’s class, Writing for Main Street at McDaniel College. He’s presently double-majoring in Accounting Economics and Business Administration. We’re excited to have him write for us this semester so join us in welcoming him to Team Ting.
Michael was on location covering Westminster’s annual Fallfest celebration over the weekend. While he was there, he snapped some terrific photos of the festival’s events so be sure to check them out in the slideshow following his recap.
Westminster Fallfest 2017
This weekend we attended the annual Westminster Fallfest. It’s always a great opportunity to get outside and experience all that Westminster has to offer with many different events and a variety of entertainment. Some highlights included a parade, a cornhole tournament and live music all weekend long.
The festivities kicked off Thursday night with a parade through downtown Westminster, which featured many different local businesses, sports teams and community organizations. We even had our own float showing what Ting does best with our crazy fast fiber Internet.
On Friday night, Main Street businesses stayed open until midnight for Midnight Madness. Main Street was closed to traffic, stores had flash sales and restaurants offered food and drink specials. Colorful classic cars filled the street for the annual car show.
On Saturday and Sunday, we set up a booth at the vendor fair in Westminster City Park to pass out swag and answer questions about Ting Internet and the Westminster Fiber Network. There were many vendors selling all different kinds of crafts, gifts and food items. The whole weekend, games and rides turned the city park into a carnival for kids and local bands played on the event stage. Sunday afternoon, the Mason Dixon band performed classic country hits and drew an excited crowd.
Fallfest is a great event that gives everyone an opportunity to experience downtown Westminster and come together as a community to enjoy the great town we’re in!
