Recently, the City of Westminster hosted a fiber lighting ceremony to celebrate the official launch of its own gigabit fiber network. As the exclusive provider for the first phase of the network rollout, Ting helped out with the hosting.
At the event, we had a chance to talk to some of the key players at the local and national level. People are watching this public / private partnership and we’ve already heard of similar initiatives being referred to as “the Westminster model.”
We already recapped the ceremony itself in a previous post.
This video takes a deeper look at what crazy fast fiber Internet means to key decision makers. We got the chance to speak to and interview, Dr. Robert Wack, City Council President of the City of Westminster, Gigi Sohn, Councillor to the Chairman of the FCC, James Baller of Baller Herbst Stokes & Lide, PC and Deb Socia of Next Century Cities.
