Switch from iPhone to Android in no time
Want to make the switch from iPhone to Android? There are any number of reasons why you might want to, and this post will explain how to move your iOS data over to your new Android.
Google makes it super easy to switch – all you have to do is backup your iPhone data with the app Google Drive. Google Drive will transfer texts and iMessages, photos and videos, music, contacts and calendars. It won’t cover app data, paid apps, and free apps not matched or available on the Google Play Store.
To get started just download Google Drive on your iPhone.
- On your iOS device download Google Drive and sign in. Note: you’ll need a Google account, so make sure you sign up.
- In Google Drive, open the sidebar and navigate to Settings. Then select Backup.
- Hit Start Backup. Make sure you’re plugged in to power and connected to Wi-Fi. Your backup can take several hours.
Once your backup is complete, have your new Android phone ready.
On your Android
Power up and sign in to your Google account. Follow the prompt menus. Your data will automatically transfer to all your Google apps.
Don’t forget to deregister iMessage. This will ensure you can receive SMS or text messages friends and family send you from an iPhone.
