#TEAMTING is a series where we showcase some of our favorite Ting customer stories, whether from an individual, a family, a tech-head or a retiree.
Mike and Kate live in Charlottesville, VA and recently said goodbye to their old mobile provider after hearing about Ting.
“I got my first smartphone with Ting,” said Kate. “With Verizon, I would have to pay at least $30 a month for a smartphone, no matter how much service I actually used.”
Since switching to Ting, Kate and Mike been saving around 45 bucks a month on their mobile bill.
“Technically, we didn’t have to pay anything the first month because of referrals,” explained Mike. “We heard about Ting from Kate’s parents who hooked us up with a $25 credit, and then I referred my brother so we got 50 bucks for that too!”
Kate’s parents aren’t heavy users and were searching online for an inexpensive phone carrier to use.
“They told us about Ting, we looked you guys up, saw you were bringing Internet to Charlottesville and we were sold,” Mike said. “I’m a decently heavy data user but because I’m on Wi-Fi all the time at home or in my office I’m pretty light on cellular data. It’s mostly just GPS mapping and emails when I’m out and about.”
