Our very own Michael Goldstein, VP of Sales and Marketing, had the honor of representing Ting as one of the judges at the fourth annual Carroll Biz Challenge last Thursday. The contest offers local entrepreneurs an opportunity to pitch new business ideas, make connections, and compete for valuable prizes – think American Idol meets Shark Tank! It was launched by the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce partnered with Startup Local with the goal of “inspiring the next generation of entrepreneurs to build the businesses that will be the backbone of Carroll County for years to come.”
It was a beautiful evening for the community to come out to the Carroll Arts Center and celebrate the county’s entrepreneurs with cocktails, hors o’deuvers, and laughter. This year’s winner, Ryan Herbstsomer, received a $5,000 grand prize to apply to his business, Autumn Summer. He also won the $500 People’s Choice Award. And Tri Sport Junction in Sykesville, one of the original 25 applicants, was awarded the $2,000 Downtown Award.
Learn more about the finalists, and meet the other contest judges in the video above. Keep your eyes peeled for a glimpse or two of Michael hard at work in his native environment.
