Whether a member of the Ting team or the mayor of a Ting town, we put your questions in front of smart people.

How does Ting Internet decide where to build next?

So you want to build a fiber network. Shouldn’t be too hard. Dig a few holes, put some fiber down and in three to four weeks, a network starts to sprout.

If only it were so easy.

As Monica Webb explains, there are many factors at play when choosing the next lucky city to get Ting Internet. Does the city want us there? Do the residents want and need gigabit Internet? What kind of Internet options are already available? Other varyingly sexy factors like geography, population density, utility pole ordinance and the construction permitting process that the city has in place all factor in too.

Should all other factors fail, we also have a US map and some darts.
