In order to provide you with better online service, we also collect the following personal information from you when you’re our customer or in other situations like when you’re still just considering if you’re going to be our customer:

  • Other unique Identifiers such as your user name, account number, and a hash of your password (this means we can’t see your actual password).

Ting also collects information from third parties like social media platforms, marketing or advertising service providers, fraud prevention service providers, or publicly available sources.

Information Obtained From Third Parties

We obtain address information about you from third party sources, such as the US Postal Service, to verify your address so we can properly ship your order to you and to prevent fraud. We also disclose certain personal information to our corporate affiliates, including parent company, sister companies, and subsidiaries, where necessary to provide a product or service or in other circumstances with your consent or as permitted by law (such as to meet our accounting, and operations requirements). We do not sell your information. Tracking technologies

We and our service providers (such as social media platforms) use online tracking technologies such as cookies, pixels, and web beacons to gather information about how you and others interact with our website. For example, we will know how many people access specific areas or features within our site and which links they clicked on. We try to limit the information or event data those partners receive to include only the information we need to measure effectiveness of marketing campaigns or to send you targeted advertising of our services we believe will interest you on other sites. Security

When you provide sensitive information (such as a credit card number) to us, we encrypt the transmission of that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL). We also follow generally-accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. Each of us gets regular training about how to handle sensitive data and how important it is.

Anonymized and Aggregated Information

Where we deidentify information, we will maintain and use the information in deidentified form and will not attempt to reidentify it, except as permitted by applicable law, such as to test our deidentification processes or to determine whether our security safeguards are working. We may disclose aggregated or deidentified information to service providers, advisors, affiliates, partners, or other third parties for lawful business purposes.

Data retention

We retain your information as long as your account remains active or as required to provide services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. For active customers, we must retain data to deliver ongoing services.

If you wish to delete your data, you can submit a request via our data deletion form. Please note that If your Ting account is still active, we need to keep some of your information in order to provide you with our service. We will however delete your marketing and support data from HubSpot, the tool we use to manage customer communications.

Children’s Privacy

Our websites are not intended for or directed to children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors or target advertising towards anyone under the age of 18.

Other information

Our site includes publicly accessible blogs. You should be aware that any information you provide in these areas may be read, collected, and used by others who access them. To request removal of your personal information from our blog, contact us. In some cases, we may not be able to remove your personal information, in which case we will let you know if we are unable to do so.

Correcting and updating your personal information

We will retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services, fulfill our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. If you wish to cancel your account or request that we no longer use your information to provide you services, please contact us.
