Anissa S lives in Arizona and has been a Ting customer for almost a year, using a Nexus 5X as her daily driver.

Her Ting cell phone bill is significantly cheaper compared to what she was paying with one of the Big Four wireless providers. Anissa realized that by switching to a smaller carrier, she could keep the great nationwide network coverage she needed while receiving a much better overall experience.

“I was using Sprint for the last 13 years and while I liked the service coverage, I didn’t like their plan prices and they did not have great customer service. For my usage, Ting was about 75% cheaper than what I was paying with Sprint.”

Ting customer spotlight: Josh P

The Ting subreddit is a space for ongoing conversations about Ting and the US mobile industry in general. From questions, suggestions, shout-outs, Ting hacks and much more, it’s a great place to get quality, honest information about Ting.

Recently, Josh was looking around for cheaper cell phone alternatives and stumbled upon Ting on reddit, realizing it would integrate well with his Google Voice + VoIP landline combo and save him $35 a month in the process. After making the switch, Josh took to the Ting subreddit to share his setup with other redditors and explain why Ting was the perfect fit.

We were intrigued by this “communication trifecta” Josh mentioned and reached out to see if he’d be up for a chat. Josh was glad to tell us more of his story, explaining how this phone system works, the reasons he likes Ting, how much he’s saving and more.

Ting customer spotlight: Ryan M.

A few weeks ago on the Ting Facebook page, we shared one of our weekly discussion posts and received some great comments from our Facebook fans. One of our customers, Ryan, responded to the post and was randomly selected as a lucky winner of a $25 Ting service credit. (If you’d like the chance to win some credit and/or Ting swag every week, Like us on Facebook.)

After adding $25 to his account, we noticed Ryan had been a Ting customer for over two years and had racked up a ton of referral credit since making the switch. As a veteran user, we asked Ryan if he would be interested in chatting with us about his experience with Ting, to help those who may be apprehensive about leaving a well-known provider for a low-cost cell phone carrier like Ting.

Fortunately, he was happy to speak with us! Ryan was eager to share his story, from his initial reasons for leaving AT&T to his current thoughts about Ting mobile service and more.

The Reed family live in Texas and have been Ting customers for over a year and a half. They’ve saved an average of $210 per month on their cell phone bill since making the switch to Ting.

“Our usage patterns are exactly the same as they were prior to our switch. If anything, we are less worried about using more data or minutes than we were before.”

Brad, his wife and two daughters each use a smartphone on Ting across both nationwide network offerings. Brad explained why Ting mobile was the right choice for his family:

Zev and his family live in Colorado and have been with Ting for just under two years. They currently use a mixture of iPhones on Ting’s CDMA (Sprint) network offering.

Back in January of 2013, Zev began looking for affordable cell phone carriers online.

“I realized I needed access for business calls and family connections. Ting became our first and only phone company. I love the customer service and great prices.”

With four phones under one Ting account, Zev sets alerts in the Ting online account dashboard to easily keep track of his family’s usage. By setting specific phone thresholds for messages and megabytes, he can ensure his monthly bill stays within his allocated budget.

The Schiffer family lives in Idaho and uses Ting for all their mobile needs.

Steve explains that with six phones under one Ting account, he saves at least $80 a month on his family cell phone bill. They use a mixture of iPhone and Android smartphones.

“Ting is the perfect pay for your usage system that accepts a wide array of devices. I pay less for our family’s phones than many who are still using flip phones in an effort to keep rates in check.”

Steve utilizes the Ting app to ensure his kids have access to mobile data but can’t accidentally use more than he has budgeted for.

“The handy Ting app allows quick and easy access to device options and gives parental visibility to who and when kids are texting or talking to. Accidents happen, so I have the kids on 200 MB limits in case an application is accidently ignored. If they need it back on it’s as simple as flipping a switch in the Ting app.”

“My kids are older and there are reasons for the modern teen to have access to data. This gives them a chance to be responsible and be given a smartphone that helps them in school and provides some cool convenience without breaking the bank.”
